Midland Wallboards Limited offer a wide range of products and service, too many to mention here, all of which are available to the trade and public alike. MDF Medium Density Fibre board is a modern core material used mainly in the production of furniture, shopfitting etc, where its low cost and high structural strength are ideal. It is stocked in a number of set sizes ranging from 8ft x 4ft (2440 x 1220) to 12ft x 6ft (3660 x 1830), our "in house" cutting service is available to cut to any size and quantity. Board thickness ranges from 2mm thick to 60mm thick, 18mm being the most common. It is also available in fire resistant or moisture resistant grades.
Chipboard Chipboard is generally the lowest cost of all the core material, lacking the structural strength of MDF, it is generally used in low cost applications such as self assembly furniture. It is stocked in sizes ranging from 8ft x 4ft (2440 x 1220) to 10ft x 4ft (3050 x 1220) as with our other core materials we can also cut it to size, thickness range from 6mm to 38mm. It is also available in fire resistant or moisture resistant grades.
Plywood Plywood is one of the oldest sheet materials around, still used in many industries. It is one of the most durable core materials and is resistant to movement and rot. It is stocked in a number of set sizes ranging from 8ft x 4ft (2440 x 1220) to 10ft x 5ft (3050 x 1525) and our "in house" cutting service can cut boards to specification. It is available from 1.5mm thick to 25mm thick, 18mm being the most common. We also carry stocks of fire rated plywood as well as exterior grade and shuttering ply.
Postformed Work Surfaces Have you ever seen a work surface, but it's not quite the colour you want or it was too long? Then we can make a work surface for you to your exact specification. We can even make surfaces for the bathroom with moisture resistant MDF and with overhangs and up-stands at front and back.
Hardboard Hardboard is one of the original sheet materials, however as it is generally only available in thickness up to 6mm it does not have the wide range of uses that MDF and Chipboard do. Mostly sold in 8ft by 4ft sheets, some other sizes are available to special order.
